Fighting your illness with peace and joy

Sometimes, it can be almost impossible to function the way you want to because you are sick.  You are in pain.  You are afraid.  You want to be alone.

It is at these times, that I turn to my faith.  Below is a passage from Philippians 4 that helps me put things in perspective.

Comforting!

Comforting!

It is a simple message.  Putting in into other words it might say:  “Don’t worry.  Be happy!”  As it says, by putting your faith in God, you will experience such peace that our minds simply can not understand!  Be full of joy – Rejoice!

At other times I am afraid.  At these times, I turn again to the bible to the 23rd Psalm that many find calming and reassuring.  Remember that God is always with us.  In the good times and in the bad times.  He is there to protect us.  And if we truly believe and have faith, He will allow us to dwell in His house forever.

Calming!

Calming!

I hope that these simple passages may be as helpful to others as they are to me.  Praise God, believe and trust in Him, and find joy and peace when you must face pain and fear.
